The spiders came
and why wouldn't they
they go where they can feed
and the last few weeks
have been great for them
what a damn cliché
just how a single seed
sometimes grows into a weed
that just chokes it all
takes it all away
the nutrients we need
all the beauty that we breed
till it's all gone
and I don't even know where it went
but I feel most at home
in my pyramid of songs and cement.
It's a tiring game
and I don't want to play
to weed out all the weeds
seems a neverending deed
so I upped and ran
found a place to stay
I bit the hand that feeds
now I am in dire need
of a shot of sorts
vaccinate the stray
I’d rather see it bleed
than I ever would concede
that I’m all gone
and I don’t even know where I went
but I feel most at home
in my pyramid of songs and cement.

just a mammal hibernating in its den
